The River House

Located on 12 acres of riverfront property of in Southcentral Alaska, the River House was conceived as a home base in Alaska. The River House is part of a larger property design that encompasses a main house, barns, woodsheds, a smokehouse, a bridge and multiple natural streams reminiscent of Adirondack Fish Camps. The River House occupies the edge of a 40’ bluff above 1200’ of river frontage.

Living spaces are all located on single floor, producing a rambling lodge that aligns with river, sunset, forest, and mountain views.

Gracious roofed and screened porches extend the short summer season with outdoor fireplaces and high vantage points for both sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen mass extends towards the river with timber framing and continuous glass on 3 sides.
